Upgraded from ME to W2K and now unable to play mp3 tunes - choppy playback - the soundcard is Soundblaster 16 ISA. Cannot find a driver at Creative Labs. Guess I need to get a new card? Also recommendations ISA or PCI?

lkalmbac,

Definitely go with the PCI card.

Andy:
Took your advice and installed an SB 16 PCI sound card. Audio functions are greatly imporved...BUT... music file do not play consistently...frequent, random, skips. The original sound card was intgrated on the motherboard and it is now disabled. I did notice that the interrupt values are different between the original and the new board. Windows does not show a conflict. Any ideas? THX

Your problem may be related to lack of memory. What are the specifications of your sytem i.e. processor speed, memory installed etc.

You're definitely on the low side for processing power. If possible you should get more RAM as this will help alleviate the problem. Hopefully it will fix the audio issue.
