Under Windows 95, bat routine would copy ascii files into long file names (LFN). Upgraded OS to Windows 2000 and now the bat routine only copies to 8.3 format. Verified 8.3 format file in Windows Explorer and CMD. Even did "DIR /x" in CMD. It shows the 8.3 format as the long name. Have created new text file and saved as LFN with no problem. Have looked at registry and can find nothing to force 8.3 format.

Any help would be appreciated.
