I wish to change the background color around the text describing an icon on the desktop. For example, the My Documents icon has white text surrounded by a blue background. How do I change the background color?
Hi budgora,
Change the colour of your desktop from the display properties.

Dank,
I am not trying to change the color of my desktop. I am trying to change the background around the icon titles from its current color to the desktop color.

I use Chaos Soft (http://www.chaossoft.com/trtext.shtml>TransText</a>). It is a simple little app that resides in the sys tray and lets you change desktop icon text color and text background color independently using a palette or RGB values, and has a 'transparent background' feature. Freeware, no packaged foistware.
