I am using many old DOS programs from Floppydisks. I start them with *.bat files (incl a command line) from Windows 98īs Explorer. Under Win98 I can also print from the DOS programs via LPD1 using Windows drivers. I bought Win2000 but had difficulties to use DOS floppies. I had to go back to Win98. Can one use DOS programs under Windows XP?

I'm 99% sure you can't. The release of XP pretty much put DOS in the dumper. /images/forums/icons/smile.gif

The reason I waffle 1% is because Allan will probably know of a way. /images/forums/icons/laugh.gif

Many DOS programs run fine with XP as is. Some can be "persuaded" to run using DOS compatabililty mode. Others just won't run. Depends on what's in the batch files. If it just calls the exec it might be fine, but if it requires other things to happen....

Why not post one of the .bat files?
