I have been having this extremely annoying problem with my computer for around the past 3 months. Without fail, after i start up the machine and run windows for about 15 minutes it will hang/freeze. I have tried to minimise system rescource hogging programs, i'ver also taken everything off my startup list using msconfig, i've run RAM optimsing programs, and even underclocked my Gfx card. does anyone know how to help?

Have you installed the Windows Update #811493, if so you should be able to remove it using Add/Remove Progs from Control Panel. It has been known to cause a slowdown in XP. Even MS have binned it!
If not then I would look towards your Creative Value Drivers. They also have been known to cause a few probs in the past. You can d/l the latest ones (which are hopefully better?) at their website

Let us know how you get on

If at first you don't succeed, then you probably shouldn't skydive!
I'd also think about the possibility of a hardware cause. Could be:
1) Heat
2) Power supply
3) Ram
I'd run a diagonistic on all.

What type of a computer is it. If its a compaq or HP then that is your problem. LOL
but seriously pending on if its a name brand pc or one you or a business built it might have a confilict with the ram. Try a different type of ram and if you dont have any borrow a friends and test theirs in yours. My past experiences with windows hanging has been memory issues and a few time because the processors were going bad.
