no control panel? (W98)

Hi

i have this win98 pc in which i cant open control panel, well, the window actually opens but theres no icons on it. and i cant see the system properties, after right-clicking on My pc icon > properties, it does nothing just change the cursor to the busy one for a moment, then return to normal and nothing appears

what may be causing these?

This is a long shot, but if you have tweakUI on your system check it to see if by chance all those .cpl applets have been hidden.

i have tweak ui, but the problem is it isnt showing either. =p

but it doesnt matter anymore, i found the problem, the pc had a virus (cant remember its name) and it deleted all the .cpl files. so i copied them from another pc and, of course, updated all virus definitions along with the antivirus, had pc-cillin, now it has nav 2002
