Is there a way to get the description pane back in windows explorer in XP. I want it to be like it is in W2K. For example if you click on a picture it shows a little thumbnail to the left of the file list. Or if you click an mp3 it will show a little media player so you can preview it. I have relied on this in W2k but have upgraded to XP and I'm not happy without it. Any help would be great, thanks.

Hello mattr8er,

Welcome to the WinGuides Forums!

Right click on My Computer and select properties/advanced tab/performance settings

add a checkmark to Use Common Tasks in Folders and click ok twice.

Open My Computer and navigate to the file. Click on the drop down arrow in the details section (in the leftside pane) and then click on the file.

Sorry man, but that didn't do anything. It was already checked.
