Yes the program is called Digital Camera Plus Manager, it came with my Aiptek Pencam VGA+Camera. When I try to open it I get an error message saying (THE AVICAP32.DLL FILE CANNOT START.CHECK THE FILE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM) I have opened windows explorer and went under properties for this file, but I backed off doing anything due to it being a system file until I got advice from someone that could help me.

Mciavi.drv
Avifile.dll
Winmm.dll

Hello I downloaded the files you recomended except the MCIAVI.DRV, and the MSVIDEO.DLL Files that I could not find. Also after I downloaded them to my C:/ drive, I do not know exactly what to do next???. If I try to open them I get a messege saying that these are System Files and opening them could endanger my Computer. I sure would be greatfull if you could possibly instruct me on how to do this. Also when you update a file should you delete the file that you updated.
THANKS AGAIN FOR
YOUR HELP!!!!!!

Don't try and open the files directly.

Remove the older files out of the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder and drag and drop the new versions in.

Hopefully that will get you up and running, if not we will have up update the remainder of the files

Those are all original Win ME files. Version 4.90.0.3000 of the files is available on your install CD or from the cabs on the hard drive if your system uses a Recovery CD.
C:\Windows\options\cabs

Here are the Win ME directions for extracting a protected System File in Win ME.

Some program you installed must have replaced them. A file version mismatch like yours causes the error you are having.

It seems that all the Versions I have on my C:\ are Ver.1. And I still can't find the download for MCIAV.DRV anywhere except on my C drive and it's Ver.1 also. HELP PLEASE

Do you have a Windows ME install CD? That's where you will find what you need. You would only have the file inside a CAB (Compressed file) and if you do not have the cabs on the hard drive (Which most people do not) you won't find the files on your hard drive.

As stupid as this sounds, try a Windows Update. If all your files are v.1, they may have been updated and an update may replace them.

No I do not have a Windows ME disk. The person that owned the computer before me installed it, and now he can not find the disk.He told me that if I was ask for it, look under C:\win9x. I have gone there but did not find the files I needed to update.

I tried the update for windowsME and they said that there were no updates for me at this time,so I searched there site for a way to update the files but did not know where theses files are. They have a page that ask what kind of files you are looking for but they are in catagories like (audio, video, monitors, all the different sections of your computer.
