Windows XP has a dynamic spash screen on boot. When I had a static Windows 98 splash screen,
on my old system, I used MSDOS.SYS to disable the W98 static splash screen.

How do I disable the dynamic WinXP splash screen? Should I add "/SOS" after "/fastdetect"?

-- C:\BOOT.INI File --

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect

Hello,

Yes, the /SOS switch will hide the splash screen and show the driver names as they are being loaded instead.
