I installed Linux to a spare machine i had.
I dont like it so i want to install win98 on it.
The Red Hat linux is not loading properly.

How can i format the hardisk to install win98 to it?

Boot from a Windows98 boot floppy and run fdisk and select to Delete partition or Logical DOS Drive then select Delete Non DOS Partition then you will need to create a primary DOS partition. Once this is done put your Win98 CD in the drive and run Stetup

ok got as far as trying to delete partition.
Get this:

Current fixed disk drive: 1


Press Esc to return to FDISK Options

just sits there and does nothing.wont even return when i press escape.

What now?

Check your BIOS setting if you have MBR anti virus turned on. If not check to see if you can select Option 4 in fdisk which is to display partition information.

Otherwise you might have a defective harddisk drive.
