Hi,
My Administrator disabled the ability to change the Local Area Connection settings i.e., Properties of LAN connection...(The OS Im using is Win2K)

Is there any way to enable (or) change the settings for the LAN 4 my PC...Why I wanna change the settings is that I know the TCP/IP properties in the LAN settings so that I can work on Internet...

Any help is greatly appreciated...Thanx in advance...

Hi,

If the Administrator has disabled the properties (you are probably in the Users group) then this has been done for a reason.

If you need to work on the Internet then you should contact your Administrator and request the changes.

Thanx 4 the reply paul...But as I said I know the settings for the TCP/IP protocol like Default Gateway IP, Preferred DNS Server, Alternate DNS Server...The only thng is he disabled to edit the LAN properties page...

As U said, Im in the Users Group...

The reason why Administrator disabled it is that "he doest wan anybdy to use Internet when we R workin"...But I cant work/liven without the Internet...(As U can observe that, I visit all tech related websites such as Urs...I wont even open any email related sites @ all...)...

Any help is appreciated...Thanx.

As Paul says contact your administrator. We don't provide solutions to overcome administrative restrictions.

If you need to access technical sites during your work hours then explain this to the administrator and request that he give you Internet Access.

Cheers
Andy
