I recently found an ad popup generator running on my PC. It was called TimeSink. I've disabled it under MSConfig startup. However the files remain there. I'm unsure if it's being replicated or not. I also found several popup blockers still active on the MSConfig even though I deleted all the files. I noticed the files for MSConfig startup are located in the REGEDit. I've deleted them but the files always return. I'm fairly computer intellegent, but more on the software side not the hardware or Windows system files. Any suggestions would greatly apprecaited. Thanks.

You have a couple of things going there.

Many or most programs that insist on making their way into the start up group can be controlled from within the application's options or preferences. The best bet is to disable them from there.

After they are no longer running you should use Windows Control Panel's Add/Remove to uninstall them.

Then if you find that their entries remain within msconfig then use Regedit to remove them at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run or the several run keys below that one.

After performing the above items you can then use Spybot Search & Destroy to rid your machine of Ad and Spyware http://www.gregorybraun.com/WebTime.html (http://security.kolla.de/>http://security.kolla.de/</a>.) also free. I am using version 3.1 and it was a standalone version. I noticed the current version 3.4 comes with a setup.exe. This program has no spy or adware.
