error after floppy removal (W98)

I removed my floppy drive from my computer (98SE). Set floppy controller to 'disabled' and selected 'none' for drive a: in the BIOS.
Now in Windows I have two floppy drives (both 5 1/4") running both in 'compatibility mode'.

Anyone knows how to completely remove the floppy drives?

Check in your BIOS for an entry about Report No FD to Windows95 or words to that effect.
