I'm hoping this stays up long enough for me to post this! I am getting random reboots, a variety of fatal exception errors (i.e., 0E at 0028:C004B4FE in VXD VFA(01) + 00009486, 0D at 0246:016F47FB, & 06 at D9CF:00007314) and system freezing up. I have searched here & tried all fixes I could find; have run thorough scandisk in safe mode (wouldn't run in regular mode), cleaned up folders & run IE repair. I have 128 mb ram & an Intel Pent III 700mhz flip chip processor. All this started after I had a new sound card installed so I did find where a bad one can cause errors so I have replaced it but that didn't help. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Its a windows system error, have looked in windows knowledge base but nothing comes up with the error you have discribed, the "O" ,s you typed may be "0" ,s.
Try unplugging and disabling every thing except hard drive vidio keyboard and mouse restart and see if that works if it does add one thing at a time, if not try reloading windows over the top of your current windows, if that don,t work, save what you can and format an do a clean install.

It sounds like you might have a problem in your registry. Try posting your questions in that forum.

JoeII,
Welcome to WinGuides!
Regarding your suggestion to Maryjane that she post her question in the Registry Forum. . .
Most members read all the forums so they will see her question, regardless of where it is posted. Also, she has chosen the forum regarding her OS which is as good a place as the registry forum for her question.
We discourage members from posting a question in more than one forum. It leads to confusion, not only for the person asking the question, but for anyone trying to respond. They don't know what answers/suggestions/clarifications may have already been given elsewhere.
Thank you. Please come back often to visit WinGuides. It's a great place!

That’s right Nana, most members read all the forums but as I observed, the hottest forum is Windows Operating System Discussions forum, really fast Qs & Ss.
Anyway, now what’s the solution for the problem because I’m having the same stuff happening with my computer?

JMatt, I was curious as to MS's solution so I pasted the link into my address bar and hit the Go button.
"The Requested Web Page is Not Available" was the response. I think you've got a dead link there.
Mary, Sounds like your RAM may have gone bad. Try taking it out and reseating it. It may have gotten knocked loose when working with the sound card.

To everyone who responded a huge Thank You!! I finally had to get online through the computer at work because I couldn't get back in here after my original post. Will try everyone's suggestions and see what works :) Thanks again!

Dazeagle,
Welcome to WinGuides, the greatest forum on the net!
Regarding "The Hottest Forum". . . Over time, you will see that all the forums take turns at being the "speediest". It depends on which members happen to be online at any particular time. The Registry Forum seems to get the most new questions, though.
I hope you'll stay around a while and join in any of the discussions. New members are always appreciated.

I forgot to say that I only have these problems when I am online; offline - no problems. I have reseated the ram; ran all kinds of diagnostics. I cannot do the "clean boot" because the problems are only online & I cannot get online doing a clean boot. I have uninstalled & reinstalled Windows and Earthlink. Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!

If it only happens online then maybe the problem is related to your modem. Try replacing it with another or at the very least unistall it and put it in another slot..... Bye for now
