Hey all.
As you all know, if you are trying to deal in securing a network, one of the more troublsome things to stop, is the Shortcut keyboard commands built into Windows . Some of these use the windows key,and others dont, such as the Alt and - key combo which takes away the Start button.

So my question is, for the variety of shortcut keys, do we have to go and buy a bunch of differnt security programs to cover against all of these? Because the students sure find enough new ones at college to do something differnt with.
Or do you have to hire some programmer to make a front end to windows or soemthing..
Any advice and direction would be appreaciated,
Regards,
Ben.

OK, great Q. My directive at work now is:-

I supply the equipment and software. I DO not supply/support the knowledge of how to use it/hacks/dork manoevures.

I give a working system... and if they bugger it up, then it costs to put right!

And you will find on here that Win9X is NOT a secure system... and never designed to be.

A new version of Cooler (2.0beta) by Fortres Grand Corporation now has specific keyboard blocking with specific applications and keys to be blocked that you choose.

I checked out this program, it looks perfect for what my CNE would want right now. It really covers about 3 or 4 really specific things that we need to address in our network. I cant wait to see what my Network Manager thinks of this. As it turns out, we have 500 computers to reconfigure for the second term, and this will fill in just great right now!
Anyway, thanks as alway for your consistent help. I'll let ya know what happens down the track, hopefully we can deploy this, it sure seems good i must say.
Regards, Ben
