I am certain this has probably been asked and answered many times, but am unable to find it here.
I was given a Dell pc by a friend. It has several users on it, all with passwords. I have no idea how to get past this, and am unable to get in touch with my friend to get his password. I am not sure how to get to the registry without logging on, which I'm currently unable to do.
Any help you guys may offer will be very much appreciated, and forgive my repetitive question.

If you have all the software and the Dell restore disk, might be best to do a clean install and rid yourself of past evils. /images/forums/icons/laugh.gif

Or if you have administrator accounts/or can create one (all default accounts on the computer once XP has been installed are administrator):

Go into Contol Panel
User Manager
Remove Users
(the ones you don't want). It will prompt you whether you want to keep his/her files. Or there are tools out there to reset administrator passwords to do this if that computer don't have administrator access to do the above.
