Hello,
Does anybody know how do I temporary disable policy settings (NTCONFIG.POL) on a 2K workstation reside in a a NT domain without logging off and on again? (I have an INF file that works with 95/98 but it doesn't work on 2K)

I'm not sure how to do this as you ask it, but I'll tell you the work-around I use.
I have some library machines that are logged on all the time with a restricted account (forced auto logon). Whenever I need to do something administrative on the computers I use "Run As".
Hold down the shift key and right-click the Internet Explorer icon. It can't be a shortcut but must be a system icon, such as the one on the desktop placed by the system automaticly or on the quick launch toolbar. When you hold down the shift key the context menu that pops up will have "Run as..." as an option. You then can use your own domain account to run IE. Anything you do that is derived from that IE window you opened under your admin account will work as if the admin did it and not the logged on user.
I have used this to install programs, run regedit, access the control panel, run the management mmc, etc. It is a little cumbersome compared to being logged on, but you can do anything you need to from that IE window.

The preceeding was from the "For What It's Worth" files, which by definition may be worthless. Take with a grain or ten of salt.
