Hi all,

Can anybody help one of my friends' problem? Here's what she's facing with.

She has made a home page on a free server. During the last two years it's been growing into a large site and her free space is to its limits. The server doesn't support FTP uploads.

Unfortunately, She has lost a part of her copies of html files during a hard disk crash. She needs to move all the html jpg gif swf class and applet files to the new paid server. Is there any progrom/software out there that can do it for her?
Or she has to download all the files one by one and upload it to the new one?

I appreciate any kind of help.

There may not be an existing program available considering the situation is not a common one.

If there isn't any other alternative but to download/upload one at a time, I'd have her contact the web site that hosts her site and explain the situation and ask them to zip up her directory and email it to her. I could see the admin doing it just as long as there wasn't 100's of other identical requests.

Maybe she could offer $20 or so as an incentive.

thanks for the feedback. I'll ask her to send a mail and explain her situation containing the request of the zip. If they offer this service $20 is worth enough. She had planed to pay more for the program anyway.

Thanks for the advice

You're welcome. Good point on the money issue. Hopefully they'll do it pro-bono.
