Actually, I use Win2K myself but am asking on behalf of someone who uses WinXP-Home.
How are you supposed to set up Identities in WinXP so that different family members can have their own e-mail, using the one machine? Please assume Outlook Express.
Let's take an example. Suppose Fred, the main user in the family, already has an established dial-up account and let's call the existing e-mail address:
fred@isp.com.
How do we modify this account so that, for instance, his wife Jane can have her own e-mail? Can Jane somehow use Fred's existing e-mail address or does Jane have to get separately signed up with the same or another ISP?
I've tried configuring Identities and yes it accepts a new person's name as a second identity but then it takes you into effectively a new account wizard and it's unclear to me what Jane's e-mail address should or will be.
Can someone please explain in detail what needs to be done to fully set up Identities so that both Fred and Jane can separately and privately use e-mail on the one machine. I understand how ultimately both Fred and Jane would have to switch between identities to access their mail but I don't understand how to establish the second e-mail account, in effect.
