Disabling autorun and some other things-> (W2K)

How do I prevent a program on a cd from
automatically starting in Windows 2000?

I am also wandering how to disable
processes such as taskmgr.exe and internat.exe,
these appear in the process list. I don't
think I need them and would like to disable
them to free some memory.
Also Windows 2000 uses some indexing service
and logs several kinds of things, I would like
to disable as much logs as possible.

For the CD autoplay question:

Start > Run > GPEDIT.MSC > User Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Find Turn Off Autoplay > Right Click Properties > Click Enable > Select All or CD ROM Drives > OK > Reboot
