Run exe-file directly in IE6.0 (W2K)

When I click on a link with an exe-file (programmed application in our intranet) a dilagbox appears "Run from current location or save ...". How can I disable this box for exe-files, so that the application starts directly ?

If I remember correctly, you can't. IE's code is designed to exhibit that behavior.

how is the link in ie setup. Is it pointing to a shared path
