I am on Windows 2000 PRO. How would I go about setting up the option to change monitor resolution from a shortcut in the start menu. Or possibly where would I find a reg file to change resolution that I can adjust from 1024x768 to 1280x1024 vise versa?? Right click on desktop feature and control panel is locked down and I would prefer to keep it that way.

Look in C:\Winnt\System32 for Desk.cpl and right click on it and select create a shortcut (you can rename the shortcut to whatever you want)and copy and paste the shortcut wherever you want in the Start Menu.

Thanks,
I think I would much rather give the user access to video modes and limit them to only have two options 1024x768 true color 75 hz and 1280x1024 true color 75 hz. I know this is possible but I think it may be a little above my expertise. Does anyone care to be my GURU hero??

I have looked thru the Adminstrative Tools and can't find a way of restriting access so set the display the way that you want it to be then move Desk.cpl from C:\Winnt\System32 to a folder that only you have access to. You will still be able to use it but it will no longer be available to other users.
