hi all
my modem is Conexant and using win2000 ...i have created another COM (com3) to make tha modem able to connect and i have an IRQ11 conflict (sound card + modem + Ethernet ..etc share tha same IRQ11) ...i need to connect ot tha Internet ....help plzzzz

If an internal modem, should you not let add new hardware try find it?
Reason being, it creates all the required settings.
Always safer than you adding your own settings.
Plus have you the latest drivers

In Win2K, having a number of different devices allocated to one particular IRQ isn't necessarily wrong. It depends on your m/board and how the System BIOS and/or the operating system's been configured. I've two Win2K machines myself - on one, four devices share IRQ9; on the other, IRQs spread beyond 16. Both machines work fine.
Much will depend on how the BIOS might dynamically reallocate resources. I doubt whether there's anything wrong with your IRQ allocations, therefore.
Your problem's probably partly due to wrong installation/detection of the modem and partly due to you not having fully configured it - and your e-mail program - after.
