Okay, here is the deal. Someone posted a "Fun with Flying Machines" site that CNN has up earlier last week. Great fun site. However, I can't get it to work on my home computer.

URL: http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/weapons/3d.models/index.b52.html

Here are my stats:

Operating System: WindowsXP Professional
Internet Esplorer: Version: 6.0.2800.1106
IE Updates: Service Pack 1, Q810847

Error message: Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display correctly.

Random Notes:

- It DOES work in Netscape 7, which I also have installed.

- I have gone to the security section in IE, and changed all the Active X settings to ENABLE, and it STILL does this.

- If I change the settings all to PROMPT, then it comes up, prompts me if I want to allow Active X, I hit YES, and then it STILL gives me that error!!!!

Any ideas?

I tried the web page and had to the install Cult-3D plugin. And it works fine.

I've never made any adjustments for my internet options. (Other than setting my home page.)

Have you tried to reset to your default internet options?

Tools-> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Restore Defaults

Yea. Just tried that to no avail.

This is frustrating.

Of course, I can just use Netscape.

But it's one of those things where I "Just gotta know." Grrr.....

I see you're using IE6. In its stock form it doesn't support Java. I looked at the code of the page and there is some javascript. Maybe updating JAVA would fix it?

BTW: I knew a RatBoy once at WWDN. Any relation?
