A sign of the times????

Tried to download a small freeware program [RegEdit+] from PC Magazine and a window came up with this message:

"The PC Magazine Utility Library is now available by subscription only. For just $19.97 (or $14.97 if you're a current subscriber to PC Magazine's print or digital edition), subscribers get full access for 12 months, including: great new files and updates throughout the year -- usually one per month -- access to all 130+ useful, smart utilities in the Library, and technical support."

Good judgement comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgement

That is really too bad.

Fortunately I have already downloaded all that I had any interest in.

I did not retain the installer for RegEdit+ though.

Since PC Mag changed their format a while back, the freeware program library was about the only worthwhile element remaining. Too much foofoo & not enough PC. /images/forums/icons/laugh.gif

l found the same with PC Utilities mag in the UK. Their data base of software was free, but then became about £2 a month to access.
