Hello all,

Hopefully a simple one...

How can I remove the Search/find option from the start menu WITHOUT disabling searching for files and folders at all, just from the start menu?

I have seen this tweak here http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/149 but this stops searching by puching the button in Explorer.

Many thanks,

Killermink

Go to the downloads area and have a look at System Keeper, it has the feature to 'Hide' Find from the Start menu.

This freebie was built for WinXP but I use it on Win98FE.

I have not used it to hide Find but I use it to clear the Windows Media Player playlist and to clear the Find's MRU list and it works just fine.

What if you want to keep the search > for files or folders, but remove everything else?

I do not know. Give it a try.
You have the option to then Unhide the items.
