I created a 23GB spanned disk from unallocated space on three physical disk drives. I copied 2 video files waiting to be edited to the new drive I named drive E. The files were about 8GB each. Up to this point everything was well. For some reason, I can’t tell you why, I ran Defrag on drive E. I waited for the routine to finish, and I waited, and waited. Finally, I rebooted the system.

When the system came-up, I found that I no longer could access drive E, nor could I access any logical partitions on disk 2. Device Manger says, my drives are all working properly. Maybe all I need to do is run Check Disk? But I can’t access drive E to do that. Can someone help me

Log in as administrator. Then open up your explorer and right click the disk and choose properites. Select the security tab and make sure you have authorisation to read/write to that disk. Otherwise add the accounts you want to have access to the disk.
