Phew! Bear with me!
Built new computer - Athlon XP2000+, 356Mb Ram,usual stuff - single user home computer.
Now, dial-up connection speed was around 40,000 without the Winguides tweaks which i used on old compy (pentium MMx 233MHz) to get some speed up (which worked well I may add).
I then discovered FSB speed on my new m/board should be jumpered to 133MHZ for Athlon cpu, as I was only getting cpu speed of 1.2GHz instead of 1.6GHz which was speed indicated by AMD. So, jumpered, and got 1.6GHz. OK so far. However, connection speed dropped to 33,000. Applied Winguide tweaks, MaxMTU, MAXMss, DefaultRCV & TTL, etc, as on my old system, but to no avail. Still getting around 33/36,000. Anybody any suggestions as to how to get back up to 40,000? Sorry for long post!!
Thanks in advance to any help offered.
