View Full Version : Removing things from startup list (W98)

There are some program files and exe. files listed in 'startup tab' in my system configuration utility, which I used to use before but have already uninstalled long back. Now I want to remove those uninstalled file names from the 'startup tab', is there any way to do that ?

I am using windows 98

Fire up regedit and check the following places

HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run-
HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run once
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Run
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Run-
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ RunServices
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ RunServices-
