Here is a easy one.,.. or maybe not...

Anyway, lately my win98 pc takes about 2 1/2 mins to boot it up (I actually timed it)

Is there anyway to speed it up?

(For those who want to suggest swap files, temp files, defrag hard drives, I did all those)

I also did check the msconfig or system.ini, autoexec.bat, registry. Nothing seems to be wrong...

Any idea how to speed up the booting process???

Find out what is loading during boot up by tapping F8 like buggery and doing the step by step option, see what is not needed and then disable it from running in the autoexec.bat

Never mind that now, I found out what the problem was. It's definitely not the software on config.sys or autoexec.bat. It's my network card. I had it removed and replace another one. It speeds up very quickly. Less than 30 seconds, it boots up. (Of course, i think it needs 30 seonds to verity the ip address , if I completely remove the card, 10 seconds to boot up)
thanks for reading the post anyway
