OK Spyware Doctor is a great piece of kit - it certainly saved my system from a particularly nasty browser hijack. Well worth the few £ it cost.

But I also use a programme called Remote Administrator. Another great little setup which allows me, with client's permission, to access and control their pcs from my office.

Unfortunately SD has picked up radmin.j as a 'backdoor software' and deletes the exe files. I have done a restore from the log files and named the files on the 'threat ignore list' but it keeps deleting the files. I know it could be used maliciously but that is the same for a lot of other software out there and anyway I don't use it that way.

Is there any way I can get SD to leave these files alone permanantly?

Thanks in advance

Hi Shanks,

Send a malware log to PC Tools as this may be a false positive. They can analyze this further.

Is anyone else receiving this problem?

Thanks Chippa,

I will post a report up to the admin team, but my real concern is that even though it is listed in the 'Threat ignore list' it keeps being deleted every time Sd runs a scan.

I know i can restore it each time but it's getting to be a real nuisance. Am I missing something else in order for it to leave these files alone?

Cheers.

I dont think theres anything else that you can do further but to wait for PC Tools to fix this file.

Most of time PCtools solve the problem in there Smart Update. Keep performing Smart Update and I hope your problem should be solved soon.

Hi all, well I did complete and submit a 'false positive' report. I then emailed their support dept to enquire if they could suggest anything.

I have heard nothing at all from them. Meanwhile the daily quarantine followed by restore ritual continues  Interestingly I did run smart update today and got a new database update so here's hoping for tomorrow :D

Cheers.

Have to say it is a shame not to get some kind of response from PCTools, I know it's a busy time of the year but...

Final update and apologyto the SD team. Not only did they contact me direct regarding the issue with instructions to sort it but it would seem that the last update has completely resolved the problem for me. TBH I am not sure which did the trick but it's working now so fair play to them.

Cheers
