I have a new system with XP installed. Everytime I boot up Norton is telling me I have missing DLL files. How can this happen. Norton fixes the errors but each time I boot I have the same number of errors? How can I fix this?

HI.

If this is about Norton WinDoctor or One Button Check Up, don't worry about it.

There can be a number of reasons, but not every "error" reported needs to be fixed. Just have Norton ignore them.

2 things to consider....

1. the version of norton.....is it compatible with XP ? If not it might be trying to fix things which should not be fixed.
2. the restore feature of XP might be unfixing the fix. If the fix needs to be done then turning off the restore feature temporarily should sort it. But, if the fix should not be done (e.g. for a reason such as 1. above), then disabling restore on order to allow the fix to remain might lead to problems !
