MSN Messenger (W98)

This site posts a tweak to disable MSN Messenger's AutoUpdate feature -- however, the indicated keys do not exist in my Win98SE registry. Does anyone have any mods to this tweak that would accomplish the job? Thanks!

The keys aren't necessarily there by default, and in that case you need to create them yourself.

Here's the easy solution:

Copy the bold to Notepad, save as Msn.reg (save as 'all files') and doubleclick to merge into the Registry:


REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MessengerSer vice\Policies]
"DisableUpdates"=dword:00000001

If the keys are not present then you need to go into regedit and create them.
