Strange,
did you scan for viruses and spyware?
Download TweakUI (here at WinGuides, Registry/Downloads) install it, chose the repair tab, select Repair Regedit from the drop down menu and click Repair Now.
Good luck!

It certainly sounds like something the Yaha worm might do, for example.

I'd start by running an online scan at <a target="_blank" href=http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/activescan.asp?Language=2&Country=63&Partner=1&Ref=EN-PR-AS-107>Panda Active Scan</a>

Tony may be right.

Heres some info from symantec</font color=red> (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.yaha.k@mm.html><font)

If it turns out that it's not a worm, you might try running it from a command prompt window just to see if the same thing happens.

And what you might do anyway is go to <a target="_blank" href=http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads.php#startup>http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads.php#startup</a> , and download 'Startuplist'.

Unzip, doubleclick it, and it will generate a text file that will list all running processes, all applications that are loaded automatically when you start Windows, and more.

Go to Edit &gt; select all, copy it and post the contents here.

It may provide clues.
