MTU Tweak (WXP)

I refer to the tweak on changing the Maximum Transmission Unit. In this tweak, listed below, I have a problem determining the Adapter ID as there are 7 items listed under the Interfaces value.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\[Adapter ID]]

Can someone please assist me with this predicament ??

go on line and check there again. one of the entries should contain valid details of your current ip etc etc. indicating it as the one you want.

Thanks mysterywolf - but being a noivice I have no idea what the connection would look like.

have a look ...it will be obvious....it will probably the only one with any meaningful data at all...the rest may contain only 0.0.0.0 etc

Hi Mysterywolf - they all have IP addresses of 0.0.0.0, but each key has other values in it - none of which have anything familiar in them.

sorry, i was being lazy in my answer... what i meant to say was that you should see details of valid ip in use by you when on=line. that is not yor own ip but things such as dhcpip, dnsip , gateway, submask maybe etc etc.
others probably contain only zeros.
if in doubt at a cmd prompt type IPCONFIG /ALL and enter. the info given should give some match to what you are looking for.

dunno.
But, can't think of what you'd gain, and since you can't rule out the possibilty of problems, why do it?
a lot of headaches result from simply doing stuff for no other reason than that you can, or from installing something simply because you have it.

I'd leave them.
