novell policy disabling applying screen saver (W2K)

i have novell client 4.83 on a windows 2000 machine and it wont allow me to apply any type of screen saver. if i select a screen saver and apply it then go back into it, the change i made to it is set back to none. anyone know how to fix this? anything would help...thanx.
