Start Menu Icon

I wish to change the "Start Menu" icon and the "Windows98" bar in the start menu.

1. Using an icon editor or copier, open c:\windows\system\user.exe and replace the 1st icon. Be careful, because these icons are have multiple pixel sizes--the size used on the Start button is 14x14, and of course, it could be used elsewhere as well.
2. I don't think you can change the Windows98 bar--you can either display it or hide it via Taskbar Properties>Use small icons. ZDNet has some kind of deal that lets you mimic the Windows98 ribbon by modifying the various Start button icons (Run, Find, Help, etc) to look like portions of the "ribbon". Good fun if you have the time...
