I am trying to find out how to connect to an appleshare ip host from a windows machine.

I've tried connecting like a network folder, but the address, afp://myaddress.com, is invalid for some reason.

This is the same address that I enter in the mac, so I know it's valid but windows isn't recognizing it.

Does anyone know what I have to do to enable this type of connection in windows?

Thanks!

Everything I'm reading shows that Win2k has AFP-IP support, but I cannot find out how to activate it. Any suggestions?
Edited by MikeMcCue on 01/08/03 07:52.

You're right windows wouldn't recognize it. Make sure the win box has appletalk installed. You would them access the share like this..

\\machinename\sharename

you're correct about 2000 supporting this. Previous ms OS did not - you had the limited uam volume setup only. try this link

Unless you are running OS X you are goin gto need DAVE in order to connect the windows machine to the Apple. If you are unable to afford to buy DAVE then you could always set an FTP server up on the Apple.
