How does one repair the Task Manager? Basically, instead of three screens (applications, processes, and performance), all I get is the processes screen. In order to close Task Manager, I either have to click ESC on the keyboard, or I have close the taskmgr process within Task Manager.
Over a period of time I've downloaded shareware or freeware that at any particular point, I decided not to buy and let expire, then later deleted from the computer. Maybe a year later I'll download the program again to see if there have been any improvements and I'll be requested to buy it (because the timestamp had expired). This means somewhere on my machine (registry?) is a date-time stamp for that program that I didn't delete the first time around. Are there any programs which compares the registery with what is actually on my machine and let's me delete unused registery files (or at least see what is there?).
Lastly, Add / Remove Programs. Any way to delete programs that are "listed" in A/R P but aren't actually installed on the computer?
Thank You.
Frank
