Okay - I admit it, I've been messing around with the registry! 100 lashes with an IDE ribbon cable.
Now, with that admitted, and punishment meted out, here's my question:

Under what registry key is the Scanreg.exe automatically run upon booting of Windows 98?
Can someone give me the exact key and string (info) to put back into the
Registry so I can get that to run automatically again?

Was it in:
HK Local Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Run?
or
HK_Users\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \Run?

Restoring a previous copy is bringing back to errors I had when I decided to mess with it in the first place.
I will hold no one responsible for the information I am given, so please indulge me and I will promise to be less impetuous in the future.

Thanks,
RTHawk
