HkeyLM_CurrentUser_Software_POlicies_Microsoft_Win dows_CurrentUser_Policies_Explorer

Key: No Run
Value: 1

Accidentally locked myself out of everything with this one. (Including the C:/ drive, Control Panel, and command prompt) I read it in PC mag, and when I dug around at work, I changed it just for kicks. I locked out everything execpt access to the program that runs automatically when the PC is booted. I dont know if this is new or not, but it could be very useful, as the only way to disable it is remotely, or by merging a registry keyfile via autoexec.bat on startup.

Dear,

Sorry, I tried the key you metioned in several ways and nothing happened. Perhaps I am making some mistake. First, it is "No Run" or "NoRun"?, second, it is a DWORD value? and third, where should be located in HKLM or HKCU?
Thanks in advance for any comments.
Best Regards,
Ser

you can edit system.ini for shell=progman.exe

this will use the old file manager instead of explorer as a way round this.
