I have a 40 gig hard drive. But my c drive tells me that I have only 2 gig. I have been told to use the FDISK utility to change my system to fat 32 and reinstall the OS again in order to get all the gig on my hard drive. Can any one tell me the specifics
of how to do this?

Thanks

Boot to the Win98 floppy disk and at the A: prompt type fdisk and press Enter [you won't need the CD support for this]. When a message comes on about using Large Disk support, press Y. When you get the menu with 4 choices, choose #3 to delete the partition/s. You will lose everything on the drive. Then press Esc key to exit back out to the menu. I generally Esc back to the A: prompt, reboot the computer and run fdisk again. This time on the menu choose #1, Create a Primary DOS partition. Make it the full size of 40GB and again Esc back out. Then at the A: prompt type format /s C:, this will make the hard drive bootable to a DOS prompt. Last, boot to the installation floppy and run the Win98 setup.

To get FAT32, you always have to say Yes to the large disk support.
