I would like to set up a laptop with Windows 2000 Professional to be able to connect to 2 totally separate networks at different times. One network is our own, the other is a client's in a separate geographical location. I would like it so that the domain can be chosen via the drop down box at the logon prompt. How can I specify the domains so that they appear in this drop down box? (I can only get one at a time, specified by the single entry domain setting in the network settings)

In addition to this, one network requires a fixed IP address whilst the other requires a floating IP address. Should I install a network card for each type of IP address so that the settings (via TCP/IP)are pre-specified for each type of IP address required?

Thanks,

Ian

the drop down entries appear by virtue of the pc being able to see those domains available to it. the one specified in network settings is there because even with no physical connection the pc can be one in its own domain as defined by that.
the pc logs in to a domain before the user logon is even presented ...that gui is for the user to authenticate.
you could have a batch/script file with the static entries and leave default to dhcp or maybe someone else can provide a better way for you.
