is instit.bat important on win98?

im asking because recently i got a message when starting up a pc, it said something about the file not being ok (cant remember exactly), so i removed it from the "run=" line in the win.ini. the pc is working fine but i was wondering what is this instit.bat file.

thanks everyone

Looks like you have a worm on your system. Check out this link on how to remove it completely.

If you're not running an antivirus, I'd urgently advise you to run an online scan at or <a target="_blank" href=http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/activescan.asp?Language=2&Country=63&Partner=1&Ref=EN-PR-AS-107>Panda Active Scan (http://housecall.antivirus.com/pc_housecall/>Trend)
