screen saver freezes (W98)

Our screen saver constantly freezes and we have to shut off the tower to get the computer to reboot. Sometimes when it comes back up it says it doesn't detect a mouse. Help!!!

I'll look into this.

The obvious answer would be to turn off the screensaver

We've tried lots of different ones and have had lots of problems in general- I think we need an overhaul! Thanks for any help you can offer!

check bios- turn off power management if its on. if on in bios and on in windows this can occur (esp with laptops!).
also try reducing graphics accel slider.
