how do I restore auto scan, It does not scan after an accidental shutdown.

On the toolbar click Start, click Run, type Msconfig, and then click OK.

Click Advanced, and make sure the Disable Scandisk after bad shutdown option is UNchecked.

Click OK twice, and then click Yes to restart your computer.

Check in your <font color=blue>C:\Windows\Scanreg.ini</font color=blue> to see if the line is this Optimize=1
because if it says Optimize=0 that will be your problem. . .

Simply change it back to Optimize=1
