For a few weeks now my MSWord starts up, but as soon as I click on File or Tools button I get this message..."Winword has caused an error in Winword.EXE. Winword will now close. If you continue experiencing problems try restarting your computer."
I have restarted.
I have reinstalled.
I have deleted.
I have rereinstalled - three times.
I have tried repairing, through the install/remove stuff in the control panel.
I have even done a system restore to go back to happier days when it worked fine.
I even have two different registered Microsoft Word disks - paid for and used since 2000 - and now, either one I remove or install - I always get the same message.

help me please
thanks, rodrolo

Rodrolo,

Have a look at this thread.</font color=blue> (http://www.winguides.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=brdQuestions&Number=74146&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&part=><font)

The poster's original problem isn't solved yet, but maybe some of the suggestions will work for you.

Good luck,

Try this...go to Start - Run - and browse to Word.exe at the end of the run dialog add a space and /a
this will start Word clean ie. no addins, etc
If it runs ok then you have a damaged template or macro somewhere. if it works I would start by deleting all templates and go from there.
