Hi,

I installed SP3 for Win2k and now all my icons in the startmenu have a white background instead of transparent. Does anyone know how to tweak this in the registry? It is really ugly...

Thx, greetz,
-Hendri.

Hmm, it seems that also some program specific icons have been infected. Propably the transparent is not treated correctly anymore...

What should I do?

Have you checked your Display Properties? I know that in my XP some of the icons have white backgrounds unless I have it set to 32 bit.

Yep, nothing there...

Dirk_Diggler gave this tip, its for XP. Maybe there is something similar you could try

Right-click "My Computer" select "Properties" click the "Advanced" tab, click the "Settings" button within the "Performance" section. Scroll down and put a tick in "Use drop shadows..."

Nope, sorry, nothing like that in Win2K. Thx for trying anyway.

Have you tried rebuilding your icons using TweakUI?

Uhh. no, but I is not a problem of the icons. Also my custom (program) icons (so not the onces of Windows) will be displayed with a white background. I guess it is a terminal bug in the kernel that neglects transparancy.
