I erased this file jdbgmgr.exe because I was told it was a virus...little did I know then that this was an important windows file. Please help me with information on how to again have this file. I have already deleted it out of my recycle bin. Thanks!!

In the first version of Win98 you can extract the file from the WIN98_41.CAB file.
In the Second Edition of Win98 you can extract the file from the WIN98_45.CAB file.
The .cab files are on the CD in the Win98 folder or could be in C:\windows\Options\Cabs.

You could use the system file checker tool. I think you can find it in Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Information>Tools>File Checker.

do a search for the file as it was auto restored by SFC.

this file is for a specific use and not required by most people so just forget about it!

All is well again.....thanks so much for your help!!
For anyone wondering about extracting files with WinME:
Go to Start, Run and type MSConfig. On the General Tab, click on Extract File.
Or, you can follow Paul's directions, but you have to replace File Checker at the end of the list with System Configuration Utility.
