When I booted my computer having Win98 as usual it shows the user dialog box asking for my password. When I entered my password it didn't accept it. Before it was working well with that password. Anyway I canceled the user dialog box and login as a default user. I go to the user setting in the control panel and tried to change my password but it again don't accepted my old password. Now I tried to create a new user with another user name. The wizard ask me for user name and password and goto the final screen where finish button is located. When I click finish button an error message box pop up saying "There is already a user with that name. Choose another name." But infact that user name was unique. The user setting issues same error whenever I try to create a new user with different names. When I login with any of the user name I created by above process then it don't accept the password.
I have checked corresponding pwl files using pwl cracker which shows that the password is correct so there can't be any typing mistake or wrong password. I have also deleted my pwl files and tried to create a new account but this also issues same problem.
As a last resort I have reinstalled Win98 but this try also didn't help me.
Please help me.
